| Market News... News and updates from the CCFMA
May 28, 2010Greetings Canterbury Farmers Market Supporters! Wow! Less than a week until the Market opens for the 2010 season – next Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 in the Elkins Library Parking Lot. We've been working hard over the winter to improve the Market for this year - here are just a few of the new things we'd like to share with you: - We are pleased to welcome Linda Ray as our new Market Manager!
- The Market will have a tent of its own this year, right at the entrance to the Market. At our table you'll find information on all of our vendors, a printed Calendar of Events (musicians, guest vendors), copies of the Recipe of the Week and coffee/tea for sale.
- As mentioned above, we’ll feature a veggie, fruit or plant each week - Linda will have a recipe featuring it at our Market Tent. Recipes can also be found here.
We’ve invited guest vendors to join us at each market this year – these folks will have products that aren’t usually available at the Market. You can find a calendar of these guest vendors here or at the Market Tent. We’re still looking for guest vendors, so if you know of anyone that might be interested, please let us know!
We’d love to have you become a Member of the Market for the 2010 season. Your support helps us do more advertising, which in turn brings in more customers, which makes the farmers and vendors happier and that means a better market for YOU and your neighbors! Membership is only $25, so join us NOW! You can download an application here or join at the Market Tent. - We are pleased to welcome four new vendors for 2010: Maggie Mae Farm (Glenn & Maggie Crawford, Belmont) offering veggies, jams & jellies, and eggs, Heartsong Farm (Valerie Davies, Gilmanton) with premium farmstead goat cheese, Nellie's Acres (Joanne Copp, Canterbury) with handcrafted candles and MoZo Gourmet (Melissa Mann, Sanbornton) with gourmet dog biscuits.
Of course, we also welcome back our returning vendors: Ellis Gardens, Peacewell Farm, Hackleboro Orchard, Rising Stone Bakery, North Family Farm, Hidden Wonders Farm, Yellowhouse Greenhouse, Liliana Flower Farm, Kandy Kettle Kitchen, Warner River Organics, Artemis Natural Resource Designs, LLC, and Mark Kneeland (carved wooden spoons)
- Finally, you can now find the Canterbury Farmers Market on Facebook. Click here to join us!
If you live in Canterbury, you will be receiving a bright green Farmers Market postcard in the mail - stick it on your refrigerator so you remember to visit us each week! We'll also have extras at the Market Tent for anyone that wants them. We look forward to seeing you regularly at the Market this year. Happy local eating this summer!
