Local & Organic Foods Canterbury (LOFC) will not be hosting any winter farmers markets this year. At the last board meeting of the Canterbury Community Farmers Market Association (CCFMA) it was decided that there were not enough vendors with available products to make the winter market worthwhile this year.
 
The CCFMA has also declined to take over the operation of the LOFC online market for 2010, which means this program will be ending in the near future.

While the LOFC program has worked well for 2 years, it has been supported by grant funding. Although many people have enjoyed the convenience of online shopping, the small number and volume of orders is not able to support an ongoing online market.

The LOFC website has created new relationships between local producers and customers, and helped to facilitate local sales. We hope that you will continue to shop locally and support your local producers.
